He shared why romanticism is dead in branding. This was Paul J Daly's favorite takeaway after investing time at Darren Doane's Brand Building Summit in Idaho. On today's morning show, Paul J Daly shared: "You can't be romantic about what you think you want to do. You have to pay attention to what other people want, and deliver that to them. The more romantic you are about what you think, the less likely you are to connect with people." 📺 Listen to the full discussion here: https://lnkd.in/gPYGjDrZ What's your main focus for brand building? #autoindustry #asotu #branding #marketing

As another week wraps up, we're diving into the latest auto industry updates: rising auto repossessions, Ford's production shift, and a tech update uniting iPhones and Androids. Rising Auto Repossessions: Auto repossessions have surged 23% in the first half of 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels and highlighting financial stress among consumers. Subprime borrowers are particularly struggling, with 5.62% being at least 60 days late on payments in June. Average interest rates are 7.3% for new cars and 11.5% for used, with monthly payments averaging $739 for new and $549 for used vehicles. Relief might come if the Fed lowers interest rates in September, offering refinancing opportunities. “I think a lot of consumers are really waiting to see if interest rates come down a little. That’s kept a lot of people on the sidelines,” said Jeremy Robb, senior director of economic and industry insights at Cox Automotive. The facility will now add capacity for 100,000 F-Series Super Duty trucks. Ford lost nearly $4.7 billion on its EV business in 2023, with projected losses up to $5.5 billion this year. The company plans to invest $3 billion to expand Super Duty production, securing jobs at Oakville and other plants. Photos are now high-resolution, ending the era of blurry images. iOS 18, currently in beta, includes homescreen customization, Siri improvements, and a revamped Photos app. Despite these enhancements, Apple's RCS implementation lacks encryption. When people ask, "why auto?" How do you respond? Kyle Mountsier shared: Most people ask, "But why auto?" I grew up as a pastor's kid. Went to school for music. Drove a manual transmission the first time my first day on the job as a salesperson. So....why auto? Yes, we sell cars. Yes, we service cars. Yes, we ship parts. But it is so much more than that. It is the immigrant that started as a lot porter and now owns 30+ stores. It is the single mom that just got a new car because her dealership fought to find the right loan and vehicle for her. It is the salesperson that was driving in the gig-economy and now has a career worth fighting for. It is the meaningful hug you didn't know you needed on the show floor of an industry conference. It is the late night encouraging message when you think you are going to drown as an entrepreneur just trying to make payroll. This industry is worth fighting for. This industry is about so much More Than Cars!

He said the struggle is worth the story. Here's why 👇 Paul J Daly recently shared: "If there is no struggle, there is no story. If there is no story, there is no point. If there is no point, well, what are you even doing? Lean into the conflict, that is where the purpose and the point become real." Great times don't create the person we want to be. Tough times with conflict teach us who we are and how to respond. What are your thoughts? #autoindustry #asotu #purpose
