Promoting women’s role in society through sports is one of our driving forces. Initially, as a partner of the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™, and then by establishing an ambitious sponsorship with D1 Arkema (now renamed “Arkema Première Ligue”), we aim to drive change. Our ambition is to celebrate women and enhance their positions on the sports field, in Society and within the company. In 2023, nearly a third of our senior management and executive positions were held by women, and we aim to exceed 30% by 2030. Our partnerships with the French national Women's Football team and support for local clubs, such as FC Serquigny-Nassandres and SC Thiberville in Normandy (France), and NC Courage in North Carolina (USA), demonstrate our global commitment. [#FinancialResults] We achieved a solid growth in our second-quarter results evidenced by a strong EBITDA margin in a persistently challenging macroeconomic environment. "Arkema delivered a good financial performance in the second quarter, highlighted by a strong EBITDA margin at 18% while the economic environment remained challenging, in line with previous quarters and with no clear signs of market recovery. Once again, our teams mobilized to strictly manage costs and working capital, and to successfully carry out our key industrial projects. Beyond the figures, we are particularly pleased with the growth in adhesives and in the Coating Solutions segment’s downstream activities, as well as with the ramp-up of PIAM in Asia. We have also made solid progress in the new polyamide 11 unit in Singapore, stated Thierry Le Hénaff, Chairman and CEO of Arkema. In the second half, our focus will remain on the completion or ramp-up of our key projects and on the strict management of our operations. The closing of the recent acquisition of Dow's flexible packaging laminating adhesives business expected in the fourth quarter will also constitute an important milestone for the Group. At the end of the year, Arkema will have thus completed a unique set of major attractive projects, most of them already fully financed. 🌟 Arkema’s relay team "on the road to Paris" Over the last three months, our employees have had the opportunity to take part in a fictional relay across the globe! From the Americas to Asia-Pacific, EMEA and France, our 750 relayers walked or ran 7485 km around the world, as part of our “On the road to Paris” global event. 🌍 This global relay aimed to promote physical activity and build #solidarity across our international teams, uniting as many people as possible regardless of the distance covered. 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ Participants shared their run or walk through photos and stories, fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork across the globe. Ithier de Livron from Arkema Corporate Communications shared, "Once again, we have seen that sport brings people together. Our employees often take part in local events, running, cycling, triathlon, ... We really wanted to take advantage of this year 2024 to bring together our sportswomen and men through a global event! Performance, solidarity and simplicity are values common to sport & Arkema. This relay illustrates our collective spirit and how we can make a difference together!" 🌟 Meet Sarah Gayot, one of our R&D engineers, specializing in advanced polymers and composite applications! Making history as the first woman honored at the Olympiades Nationales de la Chimie in 2009, Sarah pursued her studies up to a doctorate, despite an unconventional path. After facing challenges in traditional prep school, she explored various jobs and scientific mediation before returning to academia. She joined Arkema in 2016, where her research on Elium® resin demonstrates her dedication to sustainability and scientific excellence. Sarah also champions greater representation of women in science, noting positive trends among younger generations.
