Let our team of former Visa Officers help your clients ace their U.S. visa interview

About us

Argo is the world's first company to connect visa applicants with former visa officers who have personal experience with how decisions are made on who is eligible for a U.S. visa. On average, our former Consular Officers have conducted over 10,000 visa interviews during their careers with the U.S. Department of State. These officers were responsible for adjudicating nonimmigrant visas for tourism, studies, and employment, as well as immigrant visas for permanent residence in the United States. By using Argo, clients will have the best and most accurate information on how to prepare for a successful visa interview. For the first time, clients will have true insider information on what is happening behind the visa window.

We are proud to partner with Vanderbilt University to improve visa interview outcomes. It's a privilege to work with students in their F-1 visa process. "The university also partners with Argo Visa, a consulting firm specializing in visa applications. 'I followed their YouTube channel, watched over 20 videos, and joined live sessions,' shares student Anthony Okolue from Nigeria. “Vanderbilt students from Nigeria also created a WhatsApp forum to share information, tips, and strategies.” Okolue’s journey to Vanderbilt is often used as an example — specifically for how he strategically approached his visa interview. By highlighting his ties to his home country — his family remaining in Nigeria and his history of returning from previous international travels — he demonstrated strong reasons to return post-graduation, and this positively influenced his visa approval. He credits his success to the myths he debunked prior to applying, such as the belief that the visa interview was designed to trick applicants. Instead, Okolue viewed it as an opportunity to clarify and expand upon his application, and he prepared for it by practising common questions and being genuine in his responses." https://lnkd.in/ejtvFMdQ

If you're about to go for your F-1 visa interview (or know a junior), here’s a list of resources & insights to ensure you don’t get denied! Context: About one in three F-1 visas get denied (yep, really!). Since 2021, student visas have been denied at nearly twice the rate of ALL other applicants. The student visa denial rate increased from a low of 15% in 2014 to 36% in 2023 (per Cato Institute). I was incredibly nervous before my interview when I got into Columbia University and prepared like hell. If you’re about to go in, keep reading: ✅ Show sufficient funds for your studies The most common reason F-1 visas are denied is because students don’t show sufficient funds. You need to prove that you won’t become a burden to America at some point. You do this by showing evidence of at least 12 months of funds, along with a plan of how you’ll fund the rest of your studies. The following documents work: - Pay slips. - Bank statements. - Past tax returns. - Assets under you or your family. - Scholarships. - Education loans. ✅ Show non-immigrant intent The second most common reason F-1 visas get denied is students show intent to immigrate permanently to America. By default, the officer will assume that you intend to settle down — so you need to REALLY show that you won’t. You can show this through: - Financial ties to home country through properties or investments - Employment ties in the form of a letter from a future employer - Family ties through your parents, etc. ✅ Practice with a former officer through Argo Visa Argo Visa was founded by a former consular officer and immigration attorney in 2019. They are the largest team of Former Visa Officers who provide you with the resources, information, preparation, and practice you need to pass your U.S. visa interview. In the last 5 years, they’ve helped thousands of students prep and pass the interview. They pair you up with a former officer so you can practice like it’s a real interview and get feedback. They can help you with how you present and discuss your funding, home country ties and everything in between like school choice, GPA, and family members in the US” The 2 minutes you spend in front of an officer can change your future. So, over-prepare and don’t take this lightly. Use the code “UNSHACKLED” to get a 10% discount when you book a consultation with ArgoVisa! … Finally, if you’re an immigrant in America, join 16,000+ who get my weekly newsletter packed with breaking news & free resources like this: https://lnkd.in/gKtUGU-r :) p.s. I had a wonderful time representing Argo Visa for a Immigration and Jobs Talk Show live in Hindi last week! Do check it out as it's full of useful information to help potential visa applicants best prepare for success! I'm feeling thankful to know the language at such a level to be able to do presentations and consultations in it, as well as in Gujarati. I like and hope that I'm shedding some insight into the sometimes daunting U.S. visa process for legitimate and qualified applicants, including those whose native tongue may not be English. Enjoy!

The visa interview process is like a black box, which leads to rumors, myths, and misconceptions. We talk with applicants every single day who are too focused on the wrong things. Outcomes can be improved by placing more importance on different factors during the interview preparation process. Students should focus less on: - What to wear at the interview 👔 - Documents 📝 - If their school is "good" or "bad" 🏫 - Memorizing how to answer each potential question ❓ Student should focus more on: - Verbal communication 💬 - Translating the facts of the case at the interview 🧠 - Comprehensive discussion of their plans, context, and story ℹ️ - Having a strategy for a short visa interview ⏱️ There is no exact formula, secret to success or one size fits all answer, but the right preparation can make all of the difference at the U.S. visa interview.
