We are proud to have Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia as one of our long-time community partners. For several summers, Arclin Amines has supported the Center's Summer STEM camps. These camps provide children ages 4 to 10 the opportunity to learn STEM through a variety of activities.

Arclin held its annual Scholarship Banquet at JQ Dickinson Saltworks on June 12th to honor this year's six scholarship recipients. We are proud to have awarded over $7,000 to area students pursuing STEM-related degrees since 2022.

Arclin Amines has participated in multiple Summer Learning Club programs across Kanawha and Putnam Counites this summer. In June, Arclin led four STEM demonstrations for the Nitro Public Library where daycares, homeschool students, and others joined to learn about science!  #ArclinCares

For the past three years, Arclin Amines has supported high school graduates and undergraduates pursuing STEM-related degrees. We are proud to announce the 2024 class of Arclin Scholarship recipients. Each student will receive a $500 scholarship. To date, Arclin's scholarship program has awarded over $7,500 to students in Kanawha County. Congratulations to this year's recipients!

Arclin launched an exciting new STEM demonstration this weekend at the Riverside Public Library's Summer Learning Club Kick-off. Participants had a great time learning how to make kinetic sand. This hands-on activity not only entertained the attendees but also sparked curiosity about the principles of science and engineering behind the fun, tactile material.

Summer STEM learning has begun! Arclin kicked off the season with a "slimetastic" STEM demonstration at the Eleanor Public Library last week. Heather Henson, senior chemist, discussed the states of matter and taught participants how to make slime. Thanks to Putnam County Library for having us!

The Charleston Area Alliance's Downtown Open begins tomorrow and runs through June 23rd. Hats off to Frank Grant, a mechanic at Arclin Amines, for his vision and creativity in designing our putt-putt hole for this event. Alicha Hunt, plant manager, also got crafty by assembling the molecules we work with every day. Throughout June, we will highlight the design features of the putt-putt hole to educate everyone on what we manufacture here in Belle! As the 2023-2024 school year comes to a close, we reflect on the many STEM engagements our employees have facilitated with our area schools this year. From our Manufacturing Day STEM celebration to making lava lamps at the 4-H Outdoor Classroom, we have worked with K-12 students in public schools in Kanawha and Putnam Counties, as well as area homeschool programs, to bring engaging STEM learning opportunities to the community. We are excited to plan next year's STEM engagements and introduce new students to the world of chemistry.
