We use natural vegetable-based oil finishes that are slip-resistant, free of polyurethanes and protective against wear/moisture, allowing our products to maintain natural structure/appearence. In addition, Archetypal greatly utilizes reclaimed wood, one of the most sustainable materials in the field. Rather than using heavy-duty machinery, Archetypal relies on the teamwork of talented craftsmen, which greatly reduces its carbon emissions, a prevelant problem in the industry. Our products are available in wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council as sustainably/responsibly sourced. Archetypal was founded in 1992 by Avedis Duvenjian, a NWFA-certified Master Craftsman. Over the years, we have worked with notable names (Donald Trump, Arizona Beverage Company, ABC Carpet & Home) and have won the NWFA Wood Floor of the Year Award for the last six years.
