Every #Juneteenth, we celebrate the end of slavery. We are reminded today that progress can be slow and that there is still work to be done to create a more equitable freedom as the holiday commemorates the Emancipation Proclamation being enforced in Texas almost 2 years, and 9 months after originally being issued.

It is with mixed emotions that we announce and celebrate our Medical Director, Larry Du Comb, MD’s retirement. Dr. Du Comb has provided exemplary psychiatric care to patients at Arbour Hospital for over 42 years. Since accepting the leadership role in 2014, he has overseen significant growth and improvement in Arbour Hospital’s quality inpatient and outpatient programs. “His unassuming, steadfast demeanor has brought strong leadership to the medical staff,” says Stephen Fahey, Arbour Hospital CEO. “Most of all, he is a very good doctor who cares about his patients.” In his retirement, Dr. Du Comb plans on joining a local pool, taking piano lessons, and spending more time with his wife. He has agreed to stay on staff supporting the medical team with coverage and consultation. Please join us in celebrating and thanking Dr. Du Comb for his many years of service and leadership. We wish him well in the next phase of his career!
