Earlier this month, ARI toured the Nick Holonyak, Jr. Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory, the Materials Research Laboratory (MRL), and the Illinois Quantum Information Science and Technology Center (IQUIST) Laboratory at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). These state-of-the-art facilities are poised to support our upcoming SCMC-funded prototyping efforts. We're excited to see how these capabilities will enhance future R&D initiatives, both within the hub and on a national scale. The SCMC-funded equipment will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and advancing our mission. Today ARI (Applied Research Institute) and Silicon Crossroads hosted the very first Indiana Research Consortium (IRC) facilitated event in Indianapolis to drive ideation, partnership and collaboration. IRC is a regional research engine that aims to drive innovation and advancements in areas critical to U.S. national security, like microelectronics and is a first-of-its-kind defense research effort in the state. With ARI’s designation of the Silicon Crossroads Microelectronics Hub, we provide a conductive environment for ideation and collaboration to enhance early stage microelectronics advancements. The IRC unites Indiana’s leading research institutions with a shared vision to advance defense technologies and broaden the research and development landscape. IRC leverages the combined strengths, facilities, and capabilities of the state’s three leading research universities - Purdue University, Indiana University Bloomington and University of Notre Dame in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) mission. We are honored to facilitate this collaboration and partnership in expanding research efforts across the Indiana microelectronics ecosystem.

Last week, ARI (Applied Research Institute)'s Michael Bilyeu helped out at STEM Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division Summer Camp run by Brandy Frady. The students learned about the world of #microelectronics from Michael Bilyeu then used their creativity and hard work to make projects, innovative carnival games, and rides!
