Anne Frank Center USA is saddened by the vandalism of the Anne Frank statue that sits on Merwede Square, a housing complex where the Frank family lived before being forced into hiding by the Nazis and their collaborators. With antisemitism and challenges to fact-based education rising globally, our work to build the informed, compassionate world Anne Frank imagined is more important than ever. We remain committed to growing our impact and honoring Anne Frank's legacy through creative educational programs. Anne Frank Center, USA reposted this
For Jewish American Heritage Month, Chai There!, VML's employee resource group for people of the Jewish faith and their allies, put together a powerful panel discussion titled "Antisemitism in America: Stand Up to Hate" earlier this month. The panel featured representatives from the American Jewish Committee (AJC), the Anne Frank Center, USA, and the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, who shared perspectives, insights and practical ways that we as a community can combat the current rise in hate. #JewishAmericanHeritageMonth #FoundationToCombatAntisemitism

We had a beautiful day in Howard Beach and a delicious breakfast!
Anne Frank Center USA spent the day yesterday at a school in Howard Beach. Between programs, we grabbed a delicious breakfast at SugarBun.NYC Bakery & Cafe. I left with gluten-free almond cake/cookies for my travels home to Pittsburgh. They treated us so well that I had to give them some attention!

An update on our most recent activities
Finishing up an incredible week of work in New York. Not pictured: delivering our new antisemitism awareness program for RBC (h/t Maya Kopytman and C+G Partners for the gorgeous maps); a hopeful panel at VML with David Adelstein, PhD and Myra Clark-Siegel; and a lovely morning observing a performance of Conversations with Anne and the beginning of an artist residency for fourth graders! One boy had a plan to join the partisans, starting with getting a truck from the junkyard. We are going to get through this period of misinformation and deep misunderstanding. RBC VML

Today is Yom HaShoah. I started the day with a beautiful program at Community Day School. I was thrilled to connect CDS with Anne Frank Center USA! Thank you, Justin Vellucci, for this wonderful article.
