Last week, we had the honor of supporting the MINNESOTA VETERINARY MEDICAL FOUNDATION (MVMF) at their 30th Annual Golf Classic at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo. This fun day was filled with golfing, networking, and raising funds for veterinary scholarships! Thank you to the MVMF for snapping this photo of our booth as we debuted our new logo'ed tent! If you or someone you know is a veterinary student, you can learn more about the MVMF's scholarships here: https://lnkd.in/eNh_y823

Welcome to the #DanishaDiaries, where our very own Danisha shares a story of being an ER vet tech! 🐾 📓 "A patient came into our ER on a gurney, not doing well, & we were told it's a hemoabdomen. Something didn't seem right...the patient's stomach was hard. I had a gut feeling it was a GDV - Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (aka a twisted stomach). I asked the veterinarian on the case to do a right lateral x-ray - which confirmed it was indeed GDV. For treatment, the veterinarian elected to trocharize (decompress with a long needle) it. I was willing to do it! I am so proud for not only catching that it was a GDV, but that I also did perform a trocharization for the first time & it was successful!" Way to go, Danisha! 🌟 Our trained and skilled vet techs, like Danisha, trust their own expertise & are empowered to advocate for patients! 🐾 Thank you, Danisha, for recognizing something was off and addressing your concerns right away with the ER vet. Your keen observations made all the difference! 🎉 💗 #TheDanishaDiaries #TeamMemberThursday #AERCVetTech #ervettech #aercmn

When it's higher than 80°F outside, DO NOT heavily exercise your dogs outside! A walk in the cooler hours of the day is fine or a slow meander when it’s hot. If your pet is at an increased risk of overheating, it’s especially important to monitor them closely while outside on humid days. Between fireworks, thunderstorms, & construction - summer has a lot of loud, unexpected sounds which is why we need to talk about noise anxiety in pets. Noise anxiety is a medical condition in which loud sounds, such as fireworks or thunderstorms, cause fearful and anxious behaviors in our pets. Without proper treatment though, anxiety can progress to escape attempts and destructive behaviors. View our graphic for a few tips on what to do to help your pets, as well as what not to do. We also recommend consulting with your family veterinarian for additional advice and treatment options. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gW6emthf #petsafety #fourthofjuly #veterinary #aercmn
