  • This year marks AMIGOS' 60th anniversary, and in honor of this milestone, we are hosting a 60th Anniversary: In Conversation Panel Series, featuring virtual and in-person panel events to bring together the national AMIGOS community to connect, share, and be inspired by the future of AMIGOS! 🎙️ The first in-person panel took place in May in San Francisco, California, and centered on recent AMIGOS alumni who are working to preserve the planet and environment for generations to come. Our incredible and inspiring alumni are at the forefront of environmental conservation, making a significant impact and paving the way for a sustainable future. Thank you to our moderator, Chelsea M. (’05, ’08, ’11), Senior Campaigner for Agriculture and Climate Finance at Friends of the Earth U.S., and our panelists, Shayan Kaveh (’15, ’17, ’21), Science Communicator at Sustainable Conservation, and Finn Does (’22), Co-Chair of the Bay Area Youth Climate Summit. The panel conversation, Q&A, and networking time were so inspiring for all who joined the event! 👏🌎💚 💻 Stay tuned for information about our first virtual panel event of this series!

In 2021, Capital Plus Financial supported Amigos de las Americas (AMIGOS) as it launched the Social Impact Accelerator – a 16-week virtual bilingual program empowering high school-aged volunteers who had previously participated in its summer programs in Latin America or the U.S. This program, continued to be powered by CPF, equips participants with the resources and mentorship needed to create impactful projects in their home communities. At the heart of the work lies Design Thinking, a human-centered approach that encourages students to challenge assumptions and develop innovative solutions to community challenges. Since its inception, the Social Impact Accelerator has experienced remarkable growth, expanding to include 13 students from Latin America and 22 students from the U.S. in 2023. This has led to an increase in community impact, with more than 1,000 individuals directly benefiting from the service projects undertaken by program participants. #SocialImpact #DesignThinking https://lnkd.in/eBGZ9KAN
