About us

When you look at Amica, you’ll see we’re different. We’re a mutual company, which means we serve policyholders, not stockholders. Our culture is built on kindness and mutual respect that’s reflected in how we treat our customers and support our people. We offer fair compensation, comprehensive medical coverage, and generous extras like reimbursement for gym fees and student loan repayment assistance. We see the workplace as a place of belonging, where individual differences are acknowledged, unique views are recognized, and employees can be themselves at a company committed to doing the right thing. Amica is the longest-standing mutual insurer of automobiles in the U.S.; we also offer home, life, marine and umbrella insurance, as well as annuities. We’re a direct writer, which means Amica customers deal directly with our employees who provide a responsive and personal experience. Our mission is to create peace of mind and build enduring relationships, and it shows in every aspect of our company, culture and celebrated reputation for service.

Amica is a proud sponsor of Connecting for Children & Families (CCF), a nonprofit that serves Woonsocket and northern Rhode Island communities by providing a range of family support programs and social services for kids and their caregivers. Karen, an Assistant Vice President in our Claims Executive Department, is on their board of directors, and helped organize a group of Amica volunteers to assist with CCF’s recent Front Street Family Center Annual Block Party. This group spent their Saturday setting up and proctoring games, and serving lunch and snacks. If you’d like to learn more about CCF, visit https://www.ccfcenter.org/.

We’re proud to sponsor the BMW Car Club of America Foundation’s Tire Rack Street Survival program, which has classes all around the country each year! This teen driving safety initiative offers young drivers hands-on education about staying safe on the road. Some of our employees helped staff a recent class in Connecticut and experienced firsthand how impactful the program is! If you’d like to learn more about the program and class schedule, visit https://lnkd.in/gZvndB8M.

May is National Wildfire Awareness Month! At Amica, we’re committed to disaster resilience. Through the Amica Companies Foundation, we’re funding public safety programs that aid in wildfire response, like UC San Diego’s ALERTCalifornia program that utilizes more than 1,080 monitoring cameras and sensor arrays. These tools collect data and provide real-time information to inform firefighters and first responders. They also offer insight into natural disasters and their long-term impacts on air, water and soil quality as well as human health in California. The cameras are available to view at any time at https://lnkd.in/gQKjvHHb. Photo credit: ALERTCalifornia | UC San Diego
