About us
At Amethyst Place, our noble cause is to inspire transformational healing and empower generations of women and children to achieve recovery, reunification, and resilience. We break generational cycles of trauma, substance use, and poverty by reuniting, stabilizing, and healing families; providing coaching and a strong sense of community; and advancing education and creating career paths. Through our 37 apartments and on-site programs, families receive safe housing and basic needs, educational and vocational supports, recovery and wellness coaching, and therapy and care management for as long as they need to help the whole family heal and thrive. Since our founding in 2000, we have empowered almost 375 families and 726 children.

Happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙 Today, we conclude our series celebrating the newfound freedom that some AP women have achieved through living a life of recovery. Here is one of their stories: "To me, freedom means being able to make my own decisions that I think will benefit us and our future for myself and my 6-year-old son. It means being able to have the freedom to do activities with my family. Freedom means being able to work so that I can provide for my family and buy toys, provide for birthdays and holidays. Freedom means being able to spend the day out in the community or at home with my family. Freedom means being able to have boundaries with others and not have to rely on other people or be in codependent relationships. Freedom means being able to take vacations together. We are taking our 2nd family vacation tomorrow morning, and without freedom, we wouldn’t be able to do all of these things.❤️" - Tab, mom and Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)

Here is one of their stories: "Freedom to be the best mother I can be, not just to one but two children and to be able to get 11 years clean with the love and support of Amethyst Place, family, Narcotics Anonymous, and my sisters around me. The freedom to work, receive a car, and grow into the best person I can be." - Whitney, mom of 2

As we approach the Fourth of July holiday, we want to celebrate the newfound freedom that some AP women have achieved through living a life of recovery. Here is one of their stories: "The freedom I have gained living a life of recovery is this - having breakfast with my sisters from Amethyst. Free to get up one morning and say, 'hey, let's go to IHOP and get some breakfast with the kids.' The freedom to take my kids out and have fun spending time together, or lunch dates with more sisters." - Esbeydi, mom and IBEW Electrician Apprentice
