This multifunctional commercial space, built by Authorized Builder AD Constructors, is home to Honnen Equipment. A two-story office, shop, and parts warehouse complete the 13,800 sf building. Two 10-ton bridge cranes equip the shop for maintenance and equipment repair, and multiple framed openings are incorporated in the design to accommodate numerous large overhead doors. #metalconstruction #metalbuildings #commercial

American Buildings is excited to showcase the 2024 Excellence in Design Silver award winner! Built by American Buildings Authorized Builder, Big Johnson Construction, the Builders First Source project is made up of two separate structures, with the primary 28,000 sf building comprised of three interconnected metal buildings housing a warehouse, retail area, office spaces, and a showroom. The warehouse features an off-ridge monitor with clerestory windows for daylighting. The retail and office building connect perpendicular to the warehouse, requiring a large hip with varying roof pitches to accommodate differing ridge heights and required tie-in. This area also features five large roof top dormers and a pre-engineered integrated mezzanine, with an elevated mechanical platform and interior stairwell opening. The showroom’s custom metal framed entry and variable roof pitch entry canopy convey style and class. Each building features American’s Loc Seam 360 roof system and R-Panel and Reverse R-Panel wall panels in differing colors, providing visual contrast and interest. American Buildings is excited to showcase the 2024 Excellence in Design Building of the Year award winner! Built by American Buildings Authorized Builder, JHC Commercial of Portland, Oregon, the NW Line JATC project is a state-of-the-art facility serving as headquarters of the Northwest Line Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee and a training center for aspiring linemen. The project encompasses two custom metal buildings totaling over 40,000 sf. The main building boasts eave and ridge heights of 32’ and 48’, respectively, sufficient to house lineman poles in a 14,000 sf indoor training yard. Amenities include a mezzanine overlooking the training area, translucent wall panels that convey natural light, classrooms, office, and storage. An 18,000 sf structure houses a board room, conference and break rooms, offices, a commercial kitchen, and three partitioned classrooms that easily convert into a 5,000 sf multipurpose room. They have received numerous awards in the past and were recognized this year as 2023's Top Builder and Million Dollar Club Member. Congratulations to all 2024 Excellence in Design Awards winners!   American Buildings has announced the winners of its 2024 Excellence in Design Awards. The competition is designed to highlight the diverse application and expanding boundaries of the metal buildings industry. Winners, first and second runners-up, and honorable mentions were chosen in 12 categories. A top award, Building of the Year, was then chosen among the winners from each category.   Top Awards went to NW Line JATC by Authorized Builder JHC Commercial for Building of the Year; Builders First Source by Authorized Builder Big Johnson Construction for Silver; and Legacy Steel by Authorized Builder Guzman Case Corporation for Bronze. “We’re delighted to showcase the skill and innovation of our Builders through the 2024 Excellence In Design competition,” said Carlie Smith, Marketing Director for Nucor Buildings Group. “These award-winning projects are as beautiful as they are functional, demonstrating the versatility of metal buildings in today’s competitive and fast-paced construction industry. This year, submissions were strong in many categories, including transportation, manufacturing/industrial, and government/institutional markets.
