Key findings from Q1 2024 include: • Fundraising Success: Private debt funds raised $18 billion, reflecting strong investor confidence. • Loan Issuance: 133 loans were issued to U.S. companies, with a median loan size of $70 million. • Major Deals: MB2 Dental secured a $2.34 billion term loan, the largest deal of the quarter. • Direct Lending Focus: Direct lending remains the leading strategy, managing $241 billion in assets. • Strong Returns: Private debt funds have shown exceptional returns, outperforming high-yield bonds and leveraged loans. • Market Activity: In April 2024, $9.8 billion in collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) were issued.
