Seth Cariaga is a Mechanical Engineer on our Product Engineer team. From managing our Bill of Materials and procurement to designing the hardware and creating custom racks, Seth compares mechanical engineering to having fun with adult Legos. He comments, “Everything fits together; we just have to figure out how. It can be a challenge, but that never stops us.” A UCCS engineering graduate, Seth’s career started here in the aerospace industry. He loves to build unique and custom solutions for our customers. Seth said, “It feels good to know that our work is making an impact by being the bridges for advance communication between different areas.” And he enjoys being a part of a small, close-knit team: there are more personable connections with people and more fun, he says. When he’s not behind his desk, Seth loves to be outdoors—especially off-roading. His goal is to run a mile in all the state parks this year (out of the 42, he’s been to 37 so far) … talk about going the extra mile!

Today, in 1975, the Intelsat 4A F-1 satellite was launched by NASA via an Atlas rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. This improved satellite had double the capacity of previous Intelsat satellites! Whether we see it or not, satellites improve and protect our everyday lives, and we are proud to be on the horizon of that frontier. 📸: NASA

Today, in 1789, William Herschel discovered Saturn’s moon Mimas. While Mimas was only a small dot to astronomers, the Voyager missions in 1980 provided a closer look. Mimas, which consists primarily of ice, is covered in craters--and it's inspirational to know there are still other things waiting to be discovered! 📸: NASA
