We use advanced biology and progressive technology to engineer breakthrough systems that unlock the potential in waste.

About us

Allonnia is a bio-ingenuity company™ dedicated to extracting value where others see waste. We believe that elegant solutions to the world’s biggest problems will be found in the world’s smallest organisms. So, we’re pioneering novel approaches and imaginative combinations in biotechnology and engineering to solve waste challenges in nature, using nature. We are focused on three key sectors of mining, industry, and plastics, including segments of PFAS separation and concentration, PFAS sensing, rare earth elements (REE), and oil sands process water (OSPW). We like to think of ourselves as nature's detectives, sifting through billions of biological clues to discover and deploy elegant solutions only nature itself can yield. If you've got a passion for tackling big problems, come see what we're up to. https://allonnia.com/careers/

What’s better than one #SAFF®? How about four working in tandem! What’s even more impressive? This collection of SAFF's was operating in one of the world’s largest #PFAS foam fractionation projects, at a confidential industrial site in the mid-west USA. Over the course of three weeks, some 1.46 million gallons of PFAS impacted waters was successfully remediated using this 4never® solution, which is a joint initiative between EPOC Enviro, Crystal Clean and Allonnia. “With the recent release of Maximum Contaminant Levels by the U.S. EPA in relation to drinking waters for six PFAS compounds, as well as #CERCLA designation of #PFOS and #PFOA, having a proven and environmentally friendly method of managing PFAS has never been more relevant,” said EPOC Enviro President, Peter Murphy. Find out more about this latest 4never® PFAS remediation initiative here 👉 https://lnkd.in/g6yt-qfP #PFASRemediation #PFASSolutions #EverywhereChemicals #4never

Non-value-added material in ore – also known as gangue – is ubiquitous in the mining industry. Its removal is central to mineral processing and is the main driver of cost. Our nature’s detectives are developing a solution to tackle this challenge. Our low CAPEX bolt-on technology selectively will remove gangue minerals from flotation concentrations, reducing energy costs, minimizing waste and converting waste into value for mining facilities. We’re excited about the promising lab results we’ve already seen and look forward to driving positive change in the industry! 🚨 Innovation alert 🚨 Our partners, EPOC Enviro, have created the SAFF® Hyper-Concentrator, designed to pair with the SAFF system and concentrate PFAS more efficiently. It maximizes PFAS concentrations for easier destruction and boosts throughput, making it ideal for sites with large volumes of impacted water. Allonnia continues to provide these innovative PFAS remediation solutions to North America on our mission to help industry and nature work better together and reach our goal of generating 600 billion gallons of clean water by 2040.

In a further enhancement to #PFAS treatment capability, and a nod to large scale commercial #PFASremediation, the EPOC Enviro team have now added the #SAFF® Hyper-Concentrator to their suite of products. The SAFF® Hyper-Concentrator is designed to be seamlessly paired with EPOC Enviro’s SAFF® system and uses the power of the rising air bubble to further concentrate target PFAS contaminants from the environment. The SAFF® Hyper-Concentrator works ideally with multiple SAFF® units at sites with large volumes of PFAS impacted waters, and is designed to: 💧 maximise PFAS concentrations, creating a more manageable and commercially viable PFAS concentrate ready for destruction; and 💧 maximise throughput, enabling larger volumes of water to be efficiently and effectively stripped of PFAS. For more information, please reach out via info@epocenviro.com for a prompt response. #PFASSolutions #PFASConcentration #LargeScalePFAS #PFASEvolution #PoweredByAir

Another successful US SAFF deployment is in the books! Thank you to our field tech Aaron Dykema for leading the charge in coordinating the set-up. EPOC Enviro’s SAFF units are containerized, pre-designed, and pre-manufactured offsite so our field teams can rapidly deploy them. Once the unit arrives on site, it can be set-up for operation within days and within 2 weeks for optimization. We're tackling the critical challenge of tailings and cargo stabilization in the mining industry. Using innovative biological processes inspired by soil aggregation, we harness microorganisms to generate calcium carbonate, enhancing the stability of tailings and bulk cargo. This breakthrough solution reduces environmental risks, minimizes maintenance, and improves safety for mining operations and shipping. Discover how we're making a positive impact with sustainable solutions. https://hubs.li/Q02D4hPD0 #biomining #biocementation

    R&D Team Leader-Synthetic Biology

I recently had the pleasure of speaking at Battelle's Chlorinated Conference, where I showcased Allonnia's groundbreaking organism, 1,4 D-Stroy, engineered for the in situ remediation of 1,4-dioxane in groundwater. It was a delight to meet so many attendees face-to-face. In a recent blog post, I've encapsulated our pioneering strategy, the development of 1,4 D-Stroy, and the hurdles we've surmounted. A link to the conference talk is also available in the post for those who couldn't attend the presentation or wish to review the data. Check it out here:
