About us
The Alliance for International Exchange (formerly Alliance for International Educational and Cultural Exchange) is an association of 90 nongovernmental organizations comprising the international educational and cultural exchange community in the United States. Founded in 1993 after a merger of the International Exchange Association and the Liaison Group for International Educational Exchange, the Alliance serves as the only collective public policy voice of the exchange community. As the voice of international exchange, the Alliance promotes the growth and impact of exchange programs and the effectiveness of its members by engaging in advocacy, providing member development opportunities, and building public awareness of the power of exchange. One amendment that would have eliminated funding for U.S. Department of State education and cultural programs was withdrawn, while two other proposals that would have cut funding were defeated today during a House debate on a spending bill. #internationaleducation #intled #exchanges #studyabroad #educationabroad #educationalexchange #highereducation #highered
Former president Donald Trump said foreign graduates who earn American degrees should “automatically” get green cards. Will that really happen? Also in this week's Latitudes: • An amendment to a congressional spending bill would cut funding for the Fulbright program and all other educational and cultural exchanges run by the U.S. Department of State. • Judges have revived a lawsuit brought against the federal government for setting up a fake college as part of a student-visa sting. • Eight years ago international students said they’d rethink plans to study in the United States if Trump was elected president. But when it comes to this year’s election, their reaction is “meh.” #internationaleducation #intled #internationalstudents #internationalstudent #studentvisas #studentvisa #greencard #trump #biden #election #internationalexchange #studyabroad #educationabroad #fulbright #highereducation #highered https://lnkd.in/g6dPP9y9
