Where Teachers Succeed & Scholars Achieve

About us

Alliance College-Ready Public Schools was founded in 2004 on the belief that all children––regardless of ZIP code, income, ability, or background––are capable of achieving at high levels. Alliance is one of the largest and most successful nonprofit public charter school networks in the nation, operating 26 high-performing, tuition-free middle and high schools in Los Angeles communities that are systemically oppressed. Alliance has a proven record of success for our 13,000 scholars and 14,000 alumni, 97% of whom are scholars of color. Though 93% of our incoming 6th graders enter Alliance reading below grade level, they outperform California state and local districts on state standardized testing. Ninety-five percent of Alliance scholars have graduated from high school and been accepted to college. Our schools have been recognized among the best in the state and nation by the U.S. Department of Education, the California Department of Education, U.S. News & World Report, and the University of Southern California (USC) Rossier School of Education.

  • Summer school is in full swing! ☀️ Three years ago, in collaboration with teachers, counselors, school leaders, and families, we reimagined Summer School at Alliance. We envisioned transforming our schools into community hubs full of joy, laughter, rigor, and excitement. Fast forward to today, we've increased student participation by over 71% since 2020, and we're expecting even more growth this year! In Watts, Alliance Jack H. Skirball Middle School welcomed 50 additional families, who were previously uncommitted, to sign up for amazing programs, which include intensive Math and English classes, cooking, art, dance, skateboard design, DJ lessons, and more. Thank you to our incredible Alliance community for transforming summer for our kids. #AllianceSummer #Community #Education #Growth #OneAlliance

Read a short reflection below from one of our beloved chaperones during our East Coast Trip 2024, showing the profound impact the trip had not only on our students, but also for them! Jonatan have truly helped enriched our students' experiences AND made a lasting impression on our community! 💙 ________ "I had the opportunity to chaperone on the recent East Coast college tour with 47 exceptional College Match scholars on the GreenTrip. My name is Jonatan Miranda and I am part of Alliance College Ready Public Schools. I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of exploring higher education opportunities beyond our local context. Venturing into new spaces, many of our scholars experienced life away from home, exploring new colleges and universities, and embraced the unfamiliarity with open arms. from visiting schools like Dartmouth, Middlebury, and Smith, the journey was much more than a series of campus tours; it was an eye-opening adventure for us chaperones and our 47 scholars that came. During our trip, students engaged with admission representatives, current college scholars, and even other college match alumni. As the days went, I saw how our students persevered being away from home, away from family, and thriving alongside one another. It was inspiring to see these connections form and flourish in real-time. One of my many highlights from the trip has to be seeing 47 students having a snowball fight in the middle of campus and for many experiencing something they don't get here at home.   This trip is a reminder of the boundless possibilities out there for our scholars and it has reinforced my passion and commitment to guiding scholars toward their dream educational pathways. It has left me more optimistic than ever about what lies ahead for our scholars." Jonatan Miranda 💼📚 Manager, College Counseling 🏫 Alliance College-Ready Public Schools #EastCoastTrip2024 #GreenTrip2024 #CollegeMatchLA
