33 Taps is a new sports bar in Downtown LA, located just across from Crypto.com Arena. Over twice as big as its other locations in Silver Lake and Culver City, the 8,000-sf space can accommodate up to 350 people, plus another 40 on the patio, and features 50 televisions, retro arcade games, and indoor sports games such as boxing, shuffleboard, foosball, and basketball. We so enjoyed collaborating with the @omgivning_ team to bring the cozy, intimate feel of a small-scale neighborhood sports bar to the street level of a new glass-and-steel high-rise! Claremont McKenna College – Pae White Qwalala Sculpture Dedication: Just before sunset on September 20th, the 250-foot-long glass sculpture “Qwalala” by Pae White was dedicated on the Claremont McKenna College campus. ALD provided lighting design for the large-scale land art sculpture, the name of which is derived from the Pomo tribe describing the meandering path of the Gualala River along the northern coast of California. As dusk approached, the sculpture’s over 1,500 glass bricks in a palette of 26 colors became gracefully illuminated, taking on a magical quality, glowing and evolving as the sky darkened…White described how her artwork was integrated into ‘a complex and incredible landscape plan,’ with the lighting as ‘the final flourish’. - Anne Bergman, Associate Director of Public Affairs + Communication, CMC ALD’s scope for this project eventually grew to include the update of the central core of the campus landscape, including a number of other art installations. #lightingdesign #architecturallighting #qwalala #paewhite #cmc #claremontmckennacollege
