Through innovative "welding" technology, NFW transforms short recycled fibers into long, durable ones suitable for high-quality garments. This advancement allows Ralph Lauren to integrate recycled cotton seamlessly into its existing supply chain, signaling a broader industry shift towards sustainable materials. Katie Ioanilli, Ralph Lauren’s chief global impact and communications officer, emphasizes the strategic use of this Olympic spotlight to promote recycled cotton, urging the fashion industry to support and scale this sustainable solution. Agriculture will be critical to tackling climate change: it is the undertone of many discussions at #COP28. It was great to represent AiiM Partners and focus on specific issues like the financial viability of smallholder farmers with my panelists Mafalda Duarte, ED of the Green Climate Fund, Sadhguru JV who is leading the global narrative to #SaveSoil and one of the world’s largest on the ground farmer-driven ecological movements in India - #CauveryCalling. The panel talked about converting current tailwinds into solutions on the ground, especially related to Save Soil’s work around aggregating produce, inputs and market access for smallholder farmers working on less than a hectare of land in India. Investors and major institutions are starting to get behind agriculture - however, there is urgency to support smallholder farmers especially in India where one farmer commits suicide every hour due to financial viability issues.
