In a groundbreaking move, the State of Colorado's Office of New Americans launched a unique program to bolster the immigrant workforce — a critical piece of our economy. The Benefit Recovery Fund offers unemployment benefits to eligible individuals who receive a W-2, and have taxes withheld from their paychecks, but lack work authorization. AidKit has been entrusted as the administrator of the Fund through a meticulous selection process. Mark A. Newhouse, our co-founder and chief strategy officer, emphasizes, "We have built a benefit system that puts applicant privacy first. Our collaboration with our partners marks a significant step toward creating an accessible, and efficient infrastructure to manage cash assistance on a large scale. It’s more than just a system; it’s our commitment to opening access to a program for a vital segment of our workforce previously overlooked." This initiative is not just about assistance; it’s about respect, privacy, and inclusivity, ensuring every member of our workforce has access to necessary support - without compromising their confidentiality. #BenefitRecoveryFund #Leadership #Innovation #CommunitySupport 🔗 Discover more about our mission, and the impact of the Benefit Recovery Fund here: https://hubs.ly/Q02vLd3n0

🌟 Exciting News for Colorado’s Workforce! 🌟 In a pioneering move, Colorado has introduced the nation’s first Benefit Recovery Fund for workers — regardless of immigration status. This initiative is overseen by the State of Colorado's Office of New Americans, amplified by Impact Charitable and CBOs, and administered by us here at AidKit. The Fund offers unemployment benefits to eligible individuals who've been paying taxes but, due to their work authorization status, have been left without a safety net—until now. Here’s what you need to know: • The Benefit Recovery Fund is aimed at W-2 workers who have experienced job loss through no fault of their own. • It ensures vital economic support, helping cover essentials like food, shelter, and healthcare. • Funded by Colorado employers, it underscores a community-driven commitment to all workers. • All applications are private and secure. If you or someone you know has been affected, we encourage you to learn more about this groundbreaking program and the eligibility criteria. ➡️ Discover more about the Benefit Recovery Fund: https://hubs.ly/Q02vcF2C0 #BenefitRecoveryFund #Inclusion #EconomicSupport #ColoradoInnovation

This week, the 2024 Financial Resilience Summit unfolded, offering a glimpse into the future of public benefits modernization. Hosted by The Aspen Institute Financial Security Program, and the The White House Office of Management and Budget, our very own CEO, Brittany Christenson, participated in a panel discussion on Cash Benefits Innovation at the U.S. Department of Commerce. By her side was our new Director of Government Partnerships, Rashida Brown! It was incredible for them to see how much our work resonates with the priorities of state, and federal, governments when it comes to enhancing financial resilience, as well as creating robust public benefits delivery systems. Thank you to The Aspen Institute for their continued commitment to a free, just, and equitable society through accessible programs. #FinancialResilience #PublicBenefits #Modernization #AidKit #SocialImpact

We want to express our gratitude to our sponsors, the Gerald Huff Fund for Humanity and AidKit, for making The 22nd Basic Income Guarantee Conference possible. The Gerald Huff Fund for Humanity was created in 2019 by Gisele Huff to promulgate the message of Gerald Huff, ardent proponent of Universal Basic Income as a transitional solution to the existential threat of technological unemployment. Through various programs and initiatives, the Fund raises awareness of the threat of technological unemployment and supports Universal Basic Income (UBI) by collaborating with education and advocacy programs and individuals to further its understanding, acceptance, and implementation to benefit all Americans. AidKit spun out of the Left Behind Workers Fund, a pandemic relief program that delivered millions in direct aid to workers without documentation in Colorado. Their cofounders built features and automations to accelerate impact and efficiency in the program and soon began receiving inquiries from other organizations looking to overcome the many challenges programs face when trying to deliver cash assistance. In 2021, AidKit launched to enable emerging direct cash and guaranteed income programs across the country at scale. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to AidKit and the Gerald Huff Fund for Humanity for their generous support in funding The BIG Conference that enables us to bring the community's vision to life for this important annual gathering of the basic income community. #BIGconference2024 #basicincome #economicjustice #conferences #guaranteedincome #UBI #sponsors

We are so proud of the partnerships that have been instrumental in the conception, design, and execution of this groundbreaking pilot that has profoundly impacted Chicago communities in need. Through concerted efforts and adapting strategies, partners like the Center for Changing Lives and United African Organization have reached milestones in community support—over 2K residents benefited in Humboldt Park alone! Efforts didn't stop at outreach; the Spanish Coalition for Housing (SCH) innovatively leveraged Spanish media to reach Latinx communities, while the Adult ESL Tutoring Program - Pui Tak Center's focused work in Chicago's Chinatown exemplified effectiveness - with a remarkable 92% application completion rate. A big thank you to GiveDirectly for their steadfast partnership, and deep commitment to fostering social and economic justice. The success of this endeavor exemplifies what can be achieved when compassion, innovation, and collaboration come together. #CommunityImpact #SocialJustice #Collaboration #Innovation

How did the City of Chicago, Chicago Dept. of Family & Support Services, GiveDirectly, and AidKit launch a brand new guaranteed income pilot in April 2022? How did the pilot innovate on previous cash assistance work? What could have gone better? These are the questions we try to answer in our team's interim process evaluation of the Chicago Resilient Communities Pilot. Please take a look and share with your networks, especially those trying to stand up new cash assistance pilots! https://lnkd.in/ghhfEZBG
