AI-powered robot taxis on the streets for the first time – Baidu’s Apollo Go takes the lead ➕ In Germany, we have long debates about how autonomous mobility must function technically and safely, while China is already implementing it. ➕ As a leading provider of internet search services in China, Baidu is heavily investing in generative AI and autonomous driving. One of their promising projects is Apollo Go. ➕ Although Apollo Go is still in the testing phase, the vehicles are already driving in 11 Chinese cities with safety officers on board. In 5 major cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, Baidu is testing fully autonomous vehicles without human drivers. ➕ As with all early-phase technological innovations, there are challenges: recently, there was an accident involving an Apollo Go vehicle in Wuhan. ➕ Despite these technical and safety challenges, Baidu remains confident. The company aims to gain experience in the pilot area of Wuhan, become profitable by 2025, and expand the service to other cities. ➕ With this technological edge, China is outpacing American services like Waymo and securing early market shares. This is a true game-changer – the race for robot taxis has begun. ❗After over 7.1 million autonomously driven miles, Waymo's vehicles have already demonstrated an 85% reduction in accident rates with injuries compared to human drivers. With learning systems, this accident rate is expected to decrease even further. AI is proving to be the safer driver. Would you let yourself be driven by such a taxi? How much do you trust this new mobility technology? 🍀 Feel free to share this post if you like it. 👉 Follow me on LinkedIn: https://lnkd.in/giqFTpxr 🕒Schedule a 30-minute call on Teams with me here if you have any questions about getting started with AI for your company: https://lnkd.in/eHaYtcgZ 🚦 AI Quick Check for your business with a free expert evaluation (in German): https://lnkd.in/eJjMN66V Credits: Baidu #AI #futuremobility #autonomousdriving

🤖Robotics Friday🤖 ❗Double Robotic Case Erector❗ Robotic case erectors bring numerous benefits compared to manual case erecting. They operate continuously without breaks, boosting productivity and throughput 📈. Cobots are particularly advantageous as they seamlessly integrate into automated packaging lines, making the entire packaging process more efficient 🚀. Check out this fantastic video showcasing two cobots from Universal Robots in action 📹. What do you think—is it better to use robots or dedicated machines for this task? In my opinion... I'll say... It depends 😉. P.S. A friendly reminder to anyone thinking that Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI and Neural Networks are the same thing 👇 Many people seems to use all this terms interchangeably. But Are they really the same?? Spoiler alert: They are not! You have probably interacted with AI more often than you think. From recommendations on Amazon. To watch next on Netflix. AI is all around us. But what is it exactly? Think of the words "Artificial Intelligence" as an umbrella term. AI covers many disciplines and applications. But Broadly speaking We can define AI as: The science of teaching machines to see and understand the world the same way we do. Which means In practice That we want to teach machines how to: Read Write Speak And listen The same way me, you and everybody else does! At the end of the day That's all there is to AI. Actually There is a lot more But don't worry We are going to cover that in a future episede - - - If you enjoyed this video make sure to like and subscribe! This is only one episode in a long series covering the basics concepts around Artificial Intelligence. We have a lot to improve, and we would love you feedback. Let us know in the comments if you liked the video . And what can we improve next time 😎 #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #technologio

It's happening!! This tech allows users to physically feel virtual objects in mid-air. Yes, that's exactly what this does. It uses high-frequency sound waves to basically push on your skin in a specific way, creating the illusion of a 3D shape floating in mid-air that you can feel! Pretty cool, right? The research team at the University of Bristol made this significant breakthrough in 2014 by developing this method to create tangible, 3D shapes in mid-air using focused ultrasound. This technology, known as mid-air haptics, has the potential to revolutionize human-computer interaction. How it works: Focused ultrasound: High-frequency sound waves are concentrated into specific points in the air. Acoustic radiation force: The energy from these sound waves creates a physical force on the skin, similar to a gentle pressure. 3D shape creation: By carefully controlling the ultrasound waves, researchers can manipulate these forces to create the sensation of touching various 3D shapes. No physical contact: The user doesn't need to wear any devices or touch anything. Immersive experience: It offers a new level of interaction with virtual and augmented reality environments. BUT. There are Challenges! - The ability to create highly detailed shapes is still limited. - Generating strong enough ultrasound waves requires significant power. - Prolonged exposure to ultrasound might cause discomfort. Despite these challenges, ongoing research and development are focused on improving the technology and exploring its potential applications. What is actual reality? Are we creating a simulation? If we can see, hear, and now actually feel things, does it matter if it's not "real"? What is a real thing, anyway? I'm not sure anymore. But hey, what a time to be alive. Things might never be the same... Follow Endrit Restelica for more tech stuff. #technology #innovation #ai #future
