Located on the shores of the Massachusetts’ south coast, the city of New Bedford is a testament to resilience, innovation, and cultural richness. Ahead is proud to call New Bedford home and we are equally proud of our place in its vibrant and healthy creative economy. As a creative leader in our own industry we are able to draw inspiration from our area and are also fortunate to have access to a wealth of creative talent that calls the New Bedford region home. In a recently released economic study, "The Composition of the New Bedford Creative Economy and Economic Impacts 2018-2022 (2024)," Ahead was identified as the community’s largest employer within the creative economy sector (represented in the graphic below). This is a testament to our success and more importantly, our people. All of our associates, no matter what role they play, are dedicated to providing creative ideas and solutions for our partners every single day. As Earth Day is celebrated, we take pride in the commitment our company is making to source and use sustainable products in our future collections. And we are very excited to announce that 83% of the new styles featured in Ahead’s upcoming Spring 2025 Apparel Line will be made out of recycled materials. Our commitment starts with our parent company, New Wave Group AB of Sweden, which is a leader in sustainability among companies in Scandinavian for its strategies in sourcing, utilizing, manufacturing and shipping goods around the world. MEET TRACY WILSON Next year will be Tracy Tate Wilson’s 20th anniversary with Ahead, so it’s not surprising she is well known to many customers in her role as National Sales Manager of the Resort & Events Division. She also is remembered fondly in her hometown of Springfield, Illinois, where last year she was inducted into the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame (see photo). In the Events Division, Tracy oversees Ahead’s affiliations with the USGA, PGA TOUR, PGA of America, and LPGA, including direct involvement with prestigious events such as the Ryder Cup and PGA Championship. She also guides our involvement with other key Ahead events and partnerships. As part of her role, Tracy manages Ahead’s sales force in the Resort Division including marinas, surf shops, and more. Back in her native Springfield, she made a lasting impact as a member of her high school golf team. She was the first golfer in Springfield history to win back-to-back high school state titles and amassed 73 amateur and junior golf titles. Tracy also participated on the basketball and track teams. She received a golf scholarship to the University of South Florida and later transferred to play golf at Oklahoma State University, from where she graduated with a degree in business and finance. Tracy went on to a successful career as a PGA teaching professional and golf operations manager, serving as the first female to go through the PGA of America program at Walt Disney World and receiving a Class A professional status. It was at Walt Disney World where she met her future husband, Steve Wilson, and today the couple resides in Park City, Utah. Tracy and Steve have one child, son R.J., who inherited his parents’ love of athletics and is a nationally-ranked high school baseball player. R.J. is being actively recruited by colleges across the country. Tracy’s mother, Mary, is 92 years young and still resides in Springfield. In 1962, Mary and her late husband, George, opened Putt-Putt Golf and Games, an official Putt-Putt® franchise in Springfield. It was Tracy’s dad who got her interested in golf and, of course, the family’s business helped hone her short game at an early age. Tracy remains close with her two brothers, Perry and Mark, both of whom live in Illinois. When Tracy isn’t working, she and Steve take to the beautiful outdoors in Park City, where they enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking and, of course, playing golf. #headwear #specialevents #resorts
