About us

AFCEA Washington, DC Chapter has a proud heritage as the oldest AFCEA & Gov IT regional point-of-presence in the National Capital Area - the Capital of the Free World. Our members & supporters believe that the U.S. is a stronger, more successful, more secure Democracy when: 1. Government, Industry, & Academia are constantly learning, communicating, & collaborating together – openly, honestly, & always for the greater good; 2. Military, Intel, Security & Civilians are working together as a matrixed team - sharing knowledge, capabilities & resources; and, 3. Our entire community is unwavering in its commitment to ethics – in our conversations, actions, & intentions - every organization, every company, every individual. AFCEA DC delivers monthly informational & networking events, annual symposia, small-group learning/training opportunities, & horizontal "Working Groups" - focused on issues that have the greatest potential for future impact to the Defense & Security community. We follow the technical, policy, program, planning & budget activities of the Gov IT marketplace, & we work to ensure that the Mil-Gov community has constant access to innovation. We are blessed with a high level of volunteerism, & an even higher level of participation from small business. Our work to provide value to Country & membership is nothing if we don't pass it along to future generations, who are prepared to accept the mantle. Thus, we are committed to leadership & professional development for our Emerging Leaders. We are witnesses to the idea that STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) is an issue of Natl Security, so we work every year to conclude our ops with a surplus, which is donated to our Foundation & one of the most robust regional scholarship & STEM Ed programs in the Nation. We are proud long-haul partners with McKinley Technology High School, a DC Public School.
