🔍 Behind the Scenes of the Administrative Science Quarterly! Ever wondered what goes into an Administrative Science Quarterly paper? Excited to share our interview with Vanessa Conzon about her paper “The Equality Policy Paradox: Gender Differences in How Managers Implement Gender Equality-Related Policies" published recently in Administrative Science Quarterly. A big thanks to Vanessa for sharing her wonderful insights about the paper. It focuses on how women managers, who are supportive of gender equality in the workplace, may face restrictions in their day-to-day work while implementing gender equality-related policies – which we now know as the ‘equality policy paradox’. For those interested in the 'behind the scenes' aspects of this paper – including the research context, methodology, publication process, and much more – check out this blog post co-authored by my colleague Lydia Liu and me, accessible via the link here: https://lnkd.in/gDCyiEFV

Excited to share that my article “The Equality Policy Paradox: Gender Differences in How Managers Implement Gender Equality-Related Policies" in Administrative Science Quarterly has been selected as a finalist for the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award from The Work and Family Researchers Network. This paper is based on my dissertation work, and focuses on the constraints women managers may face in their day-to-day work-- and how work-family policies might (unfortunately) exacberate these constraints if not mindfully designed. Link to article (open access til June 30 in celebration of being a finalist for the award-- thank you ASQ!): https://lnkd.in/echpkc2c Kanter's book Men and Women of the Corporation was a huge inspirtation for this paper. In fact, one of my daughters-- born while I was working on this paper-- has Rosabeth as a middle name (ask me about that story next time you see me!)
