American Cancer Society - Illinois

The Collaboration for Equitable Health (CFEH) unites The American Cancer Society (ACS), American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and the University of Michigan to advance health outcomes for Black, Hispanic-Latino, Asian American, and Native American individuals and communities.  The initiative, powered by Bank of America, focuses on three pillars: Access, Advocate and Activate.   The Health Equity Ambassador program, a key component of the CFEH, aims to increase access to health screenings and preventive care for under-resourced communities of color. Ambassadors provide education and outreach to community members on colorectal, breast, and prostate cancer, and clinical trials. They are trained by an ACS facilitator and are given educational resources, giveaways, and a tracking tool to use for their sessions.   Five partner organizations in the Chicagoland area are making significant impacts through the program, providing critical education to Asian, Black, and Hispanic communities.
