Tomorrow marks the end of my multi decade career in the armed forces of the United States as I officially retire from the United States Army. From enlisting in the Army Reserves as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Specialist while attending the University of Texas to Colonel/Brigade command, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve my country and to work alongside some of the most talented and dedicated individuals I have ever met. I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a difference and to have contributed to the safety and security of our nation. I will always cherish the memories and the friendships that I have made during my time in the military. As I move on to the next chapter of my life, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the nation for the opportunity to serve. I am proud to have been an American Soldier and will always be grateful for the experiences and the lessons that it has taught me. Special thanks to some of the many soldiers who have molded me, SFC(R) Knox (my Drill Sergeant), LTG(R) Mitchell Stevenson (Support Operations Office, 703d MSB), BG(R) Phil Mattox (Commander, 703d MSB), and MG(R) Joyce Stevens (Commander, Texas Army National Guard).
