In this rockfall mitigation project, we executed comprehensive scaling, trimming, and presplitting operations to ensure the stability and safety of the area. Our team installed rockfall anchors and drape, followed by a 12-inch shotcrete facing to provide robust reinforcement. The project included the removal of loose and unstable rocks, installing rock anchors 1 & 2, and the placement of a drainage mat with initial face reinforcing steel. We also installed wet-set studded steel bearing plates and performed extensive vegetation removal. This road stabilization project showcased an extensive slope stabilization effort, covering 560,000 square feet with anchored mesh. Prompted by fatigue in slopes from the late 1960s, the project began with regrading to create a stable surface. Utilizing spider excavators, we drilled 5,500 boreholes, each 3 inches in diameter and 11 feet deep, to install anchors and secure the mesh. This efficient method allowed us to navigate steep, uneven terrain and complete the project ahead of schedule and within budget. Emergency Road Repair We completed an emergency road repair, showcasing our rapid response capabilities and engineering expertise. The scope of work included the swift mobilization of our team and equipment, furnishing and installing soil nails and Teccomat to stabilize the road, and building the shoulders to ensure long-term stability and safety. Our team’s dedication and proficiency ensured the project was completed efficiently, restoring safety and functionality to the area. We renovated a dam for our client, incorporating several key innovations. These included adding a parapet wall to the top of the dam, constructing a new bridge to the outlet structure, and making essential repairs to the existing spillway. We added rock anchors to the stilling basin and grouted voids beneath the existing spillway slabs. Our team installed 30 rock anchors, each up to 11 feet, totaling 330 linear feet of drilling.
