The first of the summer Sustainability and Justice workshop series is underway this week! SCU is one of more than a dozen AASHE institutions designated as a Center for Sustainability Across the Curriculum. (For more information on AASHE's Centers for Sustainability Across the Curriculum program, visit https://lnkd.in/ecc8jRnf.) SCU's summer workshops (affiliated with both the Center for Sustainability and the Environmental Justice & Common Good Initiative) are co-taught by Chad Raphael, Lindsey Kalkbrenner, Veronica Johnson, MBA, and Leslie Gray. They're designed to help faculty (SCU and beyond) integrate sustainability and justice material into their courses. Since 2007, 312 faculty and staff (including 221 from SCU) have been trained to integrate sustainability and environmental justice into their curriculum. Non-SCU participants were invited to join these workshops in 2019 and already 91 external faculty and staff have been trained. We look forward to reviewing the work that the participants will be producing this week: either a module or a course on sustainability in any discipline *or*  designing a Sustainability across the Curriculum program at their institution. For more information on the two upcoming summer workshops, visit: https://lnkd.in/et4UUQxF

🌟 We wrapped up an incredible Day Two at the #AASHE Sustainability Education Forum! Aditi Garg's session on "Empowering Sustainable Futures: Integrating AI in Sustainability Education" sparked discussions on the innovative use of AI to enhance sustainability education, literacy, and action. 📚 In the afternoon, Rebecca Watts Hull, Casandra Coin-Sweeney, and Tyra Byers presented "Reaching Beyond the Choir: Open Access Resources for Scaling Up Sustainability Across the Curriculum," offering valuable resources and real-world examples for faculty to integrate sustainability into their disciplines. 🔍 Open space discussions covered topics like using AI to assess sustainability, connecting sustainability to other disciplines, and experiential learning's impact on mental health. The conversations were enlightening and forward-thinking. Thank you to all the participants for making the 2024 Forum such an inspiring event! We can't wait to see how you'll implement these insights and drive sustainability forward on your campuses. 🚀 #SustainabilityEducationForum #Sustainability #HigherEducation #OpenSpaceTechnology #SustainabilityLeadership
