The Association of African American Financial Advisors (AAAA) was created to address the needs and concerns of African American Financial Professionals. AAAA is a non-profit membership organization for African American financial advisors and affiliated professionals. We work in alliance with academic leaders at HBCUs that support financial planning degree programs, legislative and regulatory bodies, financial services firms and consumer interest organizations. AAAA fosters the value of financial planning and advances the financial planning profession. Founded in 2001 by LeCount R. Davis, CFP®, our mission includes developing and fostering professional relationships among African American and other minority professionals working in the financial services industry. The organization strives continuously to expose its members to cutting edge trends and opportunities which will assist them in advancing their businesses and careers. AAAA is the leadership and advocacy organization connecting those who provide, support, and benefit from professional financial planning. The lack of financial literacy plagues African American communities throughout the United States. Financial illiteracy is not just an African American issue; it is an American issue. AAAA members demonstrate and support a professional commitment to eradicating financial illiteracy via educational initiatives and a client-centered financial planning process.

🌟 Reflecting on an Inspiring Experience at the WIIN Conference! 🌟 Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the WIIN (Women in Innovation and Inclusion Network) Conference, and I'm thrilled to share some highlights from this transformative experience. The conference was a melting pot of brilliant minds, innovative ideas, and empowering discussions. From panel sessions to Janet Jackson's Juneteenth concert with other influential women, every moment was a reminder of the power of diversity and inclusion in driving innovation. Special thank you to Thrivent and DawnMarie M. sharing this opportunity and encouraging me to attend. Putting Your Money to Work: Building Wealth Strategies for Women by Women, moderated by DawnMarie M., was a true highlight. I gained a deep understanding of how women are uniquely positioned to help each other with financial planning. Uncovering trends such as the current need for estate planning and awareness around the 70% of women who make financial decisions for their family, really put into perspective how our advisors can best serve our female clients. I look forward to sharing this with advisors and colleagues as we innovate the way we serve communities. Key takeaways: EmpowerHER: Unveiling the Power of Women Advisors and Client Empowerment: This session was a profound exploration of the transformative roles women advisors play in the financial services industry. Hearing from leaders like Tammia Rowe and Cary Carbonaro was truly inspiring, as they shared their journeys and the unique strengths women bring to financial advising. Be Intentional: Cultivating Your Professional Network: This panel was a masterclass in building meaningful and supportive professional networks. The strategies and real-world examples provided by Gabriela Ramirez and other speakers will be invaluable as I work to expand and deepen my professional connections. The Future of Wealth: Embracing AI, Technology, and Innovation: Staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry means embracing change, and this session highlighted the latest technological advancements reshaping wealth management. Learning from pioneers like Lacy Garcia and Valarie Vest gave me new insights on leveraging fintech and digital assets to enhance services and client experiences. I'm excited to implement these learnings at Thrivent Financial, especially in our AI upskilling workshops and strategic planning initiatives. The WIIN conference has truly reinvigorated my commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.
