Almost 71 million travelers will head 50 miles or more from home over the Independence Day holiday travel period, according to our latest forecast released June 20. That’s a 5% increase compared to 2023. The majority of those travelers, more than 85%, will make the trip by car. If you’re one of them, be alert, don’t drive intoxicated, and put your phone down.

When schools close for summer, low-income school-age children often lose access to a low-cost or free nutritional source, increasing food insecurity for their families. MyClubCares, our community impact program, addressed this issue with our virtual food drive, “Bring Hope to the Table,” enabling food pantries to order the items they need most at the best prices. This approach allows food banks to buy in bulk, turning a $1 donation into several meals and purchasing vital non-food items like household goods.

Roadside safety is one of our primary concerns. Keeping our members and tow operators who rescue them as safe as possible is one of the reasons we recently partnered with HAAS Alert. HAAS Alert, the developers of Safety Cloud®, provides real-time traffic alerts to drivers, sending them a message to slow down or move over ahead of an incident, whether it’s a car stalled in a traffic lane, a collision, or a tow service driver helping at the side of the road. The alerts push out to Waze and Apple Maps, as well as the in-car navigation systems of 2018 and newer Jeep, Dodge, RAM, and Chrysler vehicles. Be alert and keep service providers safe!

We were a proud sponsor of the Orange County United Way Women’s Philanthropy Fund Breakfast, which took place in May. This event, recognized as Orange County, CA’s ultimate community impact breakfast, raises essential funds to support local programs and services that empower at-risk families in the area. Several outstanding women from our organization attended this year’s record-setting event. The breakfast raised an unprecedented $600,000 and set a Guinness World Record for the most hygiene kits assembled in one hour: 6,136! The kits will be distributed to Orange County residents in need.
