In my experience, key collaboration tools for leading a large team project would primarily be project management tools. These tools provide a centralized platform for organizing tasks, setting deadlines, tracking progress, and assigning responsibilities. Project management tools promote transparency, accountability, and effective communication among team members. Additionally, they often integrate features such as communication, file sharing, brainstorming, feedback, and learning tools, making them versatile and comprehensive solutions for team collaboration.

I've used Asana, Monday, AirTable, Notion, and even Google Sheets for Project Management. What matters to me more than the tool is 1. That everyone on the team uses it and 2. That each task has a clear owner, deliverable, and deadline.

The most powerful tools will be people. Empowering individuals, fostering trust, and maintaining continuous communication are essential tools for effectively managing and collaborating with large teams. These principles not only cultivate a positive work environment but also promote synergy, productivity, and innovation within the team.

One thing I have found helpful is ensure there is an opportunity for project teams to all creatively input views into the outcome. Communication tools that facilitates communication of thoughts, calibrations and finalizing a way forward plays an important part of how a project overcomes the challenges it comes across and reaches the intended point of success.

Picking up the phone and calling people (like they did a few centuries ago) -- is my favorite hack. Pick up the phone & call, get answers fast, get out. Also more authentic than wordy emails/ texting. Others: Loom: To avoid useless meetings Discord: To avoid paying for Slack for large teams Whatsapp audio: If someone doesn't pick up the phone/ their voicemail is full.

I would suggest to go with Microsoft Teams as a Collaboration Platform, It provides you with access to Microsoft 365 applications within one location, letting you work more efficiently. Access files and documents in OneDrive and SharePoint, plus make calls and conduct video conferences directly from Teams

Managing communication at work place and making collaboration is the key for successful business. Though there are many tools to interact between associates, I will prefer Trello over others. There are below main reasons for mentioning Trello as given below- 1. Easy to understand workflow- This is very easy to use that one can start using it without even needing any training or guidance to perform actions. 2. Collaboration- Multiple team or even multiple team members within a team can use this tool and manage their activities. 3. It is extremely important to use best of the breed tools to communicate across project teams. Tools like teams/slack are now essential for success of a project and to disseminate information. We can organize our communication using channels which act as a knowledge base in the medium to long term. An ideal tool should have the capability to message (especially in a message thread manner), do web meetings, and should have the capability to automate certain tasks like reminders, workflows, apps etc. for me slack has been a game changer ever since i have started using it

From the ancient age we human waste and create lot of files be it in physical format or digital format. We create so many unnecessary files and share across within the team that at times we struggle to find the original or the relevant files. Banking & Healthcare industries are very concerned about their data so sharing of files should be secured and make less of duplicates, validation, hosted on cloud so any tom dick harry can't delete the confidential files of the company. OneDrive is a really helpful tool for sharing files with your team. It lets you store your files online instead of on your computer, so you can access them from anywhere. You can also see who made changes to files and work together on the same document. It's great for keeping everything organized and making sure everyone has the latest version of the files they need.

I find OneDrive and SharePoint to work very well if I need to share files or collaborate with colleagues. Keeping things straightforward and working to a platform we all have keeps issues to an absolute minimum.

Something I have found very useful is to first analyze the size and characteristics of the team involved and the needs for the specific project. Then check what tools are available in the organization already and conduct an assessment if the needs are fulfilled. If the main needs are covered at a reasonable level there is no need to invest time in selecting additional tools. If there are needs that are not well covered and there is time for it then procuring and onboarding the tools should be part of the initial phases of the project.

We can encourage the team to adopt a learning culture in the team. You will enhance your skills and even it will be a key stepping stone to your career.

What is important is the flexibility provided by the tool to take care of various situations/scenarios. At times all what we need is simple visualization. We also need tools to focus and highlight the end results after consuming various data points. Tools for issue tracking, project delivery, communication and learning will all vary in approach but deliver better results if there is internal communication between them e.g. Basis various business issues raised your tools should be able to drive themes for your learning requirements. Collaboration should not only be limited to people but should get extended to various tools.

My advice is try to use what your organization already has unless it has been decided it is not good enough for the needs. Acquiring, onboarding and training new tools is time consuming and expensive. So a lot of times going with what already exists and setting expectations from team members about the use of the tools often bring the best results.

Regularly engage with project team to understand their strengths, development areas, and preferences. Combine this with the analytical capabilities of our chosen collaboration tools to ensure tasks are appropriately assigned and progress is continuously monitored and analyzed. Keep it simple. But everything should be organised and documented. It's not about using the newest tools. It's about how easily your team can use them.
