When I realise my team member is making mistakes, I identify what the problem is. I attempt to identify a pattern. Could it be tight deadlines or they aren't familiar with the subject matter.

When I noticed a team member's performance slipping, my first step was to identify specific issues affecting content quality and deadlines. I reviewed their recent work to pinpoint shortcomings and understood why deadlines were missed. It was crucial to approach this with an open mind, considering external factors like personal challenges or unclear project guidelines. When discussing with the team member, I calmly highlight the errors and ask what the problem could be. I do this in such a manner where it's me and the team member vs. the problem and not me vs the team member. Usually, when I do this they tend to be more open about their struggles and we can come up with a short- and long-term solution. This also builds a new level of trust with this person.

Utilize SMART Goals for Clarity and Accountability: When setting expectations, frame them using the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound). This method provides clear, actionable steps and milestones, making it easier for team members to understand exactly what is expected and how they can achieve it. After setting expectations, I made sure to monitor my team member's progress closely. I scheduled regular check-ins to review their work, provide feedback, and adjust strategies as needed.
