Great topic and good inputs. My two cents on this is that first we have to know and understand our team members. A team is first and foremost a combination of human beings. As leaders we need to know about human behaviour and select members who we think can be the building blocks of a collaborative team. Whatever points are mentioned above are important but getting the right people together is the key. Not all members will be same but as long as a leader knows each one of them well, he/she can work accordingly and have unique tailor made approaches for each member, to try and mould them into a cohesive unit, where collaboration is no longer an ‘effort’ but comes naturally to the team.
