The STAR model is a simple framework that helps your clients structure their stories and messages in a clear and compelling way. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. By using this model, your clients can explain the context, the challenge, the solution, and the outcome of their experiences in a way that showcases their skills, values, and impact. You can use the STAR model to help your clients prepare for presentations, interviews, or feedback sessions.

The main thing for me is to be yourself! Do not try to be someone you are not. We are all human and we will make mistakes, so be open, honest and approachable. If not, people will see through you! If you join a new team, and others have more experience than you in that field, seek their advice. Do not be afraid to say, sorry, I do not know, but I will find out! Also makes them feel valued. Lead by example. We follow those who show us the way, not bosses who just bark orders. Be the first in the door, and last out Show what can be achieved with hard work ethics. In my opinion, develop clients' leadership by implementing 4 methods and I believe the first and third are most importance: 1- Communication Skills: Work with clients to improve their verbal and nonverbal communication skills. 2- Emotional Intelligence: Focus on developing clients' emotional intelligence (EQ) skills, including self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills. 3- Networking and Relationship: Encourage clients to develop networking skills, including initiating conversations, building rapport, and fostering professional connections. 4- Continuous Learning and Development: Recommend reading materials, seminars, workshops, and coaching programs to deepen their understanding and skills.

By actively listening and validating the client's perspective, one can identify and question the assumptions underlying their beliefs. Providing evidence, counterexamples, and encouragement helps to shift their perspective towards more empowering beliefs. Setting realistic goals and practicing positive affirmations integral components of the process. Daily affirmations have shifted my mindset into believing that even big growth is possible. Anyone can steer the ship, we ought to believe that we can by allowing our minds to think and accommodate big thoughts.

As a leader you are expected to show up ready to deal with situations clearly and confidently. Repeatedly being present in that way is taxing as we are all human first and foremost. A quick mindful hack to bring you back to the present moment in a more open, and thoughtful way is to take 3 deep cleansing breaths. Sneak into an office, etc and take a moment to close your eyes and take a deep breath through your nose, filling up your belly and then your chest, hold for 2 seconds and then let out your breath slowly and try to make it longer than your inhale. Do this 3 times and then open your eyes. In 30 seconds, reset your mind from a fight or flight response and be ready to listen, and respond with clarity and calm. Give it a try.

To become aware of your limiting beliefs is the first challenge. Most of us have a constant voice chattering away inside our head and a lot of what it says is negative. We’re programmed to survive so keeping ourselves out of potential harm used to be a vital survival skill but this inner voice doesn’t serve us very well in the modern world! Meditation and self awareness is the first step to recognizing that you even have such negative beliefs, once you became aware then it becomes a lot easier to deal with them!

A big fan of the GROW model. Coaching with clients using this method really helps create understanding, then awareness then solutions which come from the client (not being told what to do, but solutionising themselves) and then actions which are aligned to the clients values and beliefs. That’s where there’s power, because for action and change to happen, you need real belief and commitment to change!

Charisma Confidence and Composure (Calmness) are three personality traits which make someone unforgettable (ex:Visualise Great Captain M.S.Dhoni) Of these, Composure is *THE* thing (Staying calm in challenging situations, handling problems with grace and practicing mindfulness). People learn this by observing their seniors and put it into practice when faced with challenges. As a senior. we must give freedom to our subordinates to choose their Leadership Presence. If they love fire, they will transform into gold, if not, becoming "Ash" is inevitable. Leadership Presence is all about the ability to inspire confidence in others. Make your presence felt.

Every leadership course or book will give you leadership characteristics but to help you give a client better leadership skills, much can be synthesised into some precious yet fundamental non negotiable. Here’s my take. Leadership is a combination of character (who you are) and competence (what you can do) A good leader cannot lead anything without a clear vision and that means it is widely known and understood. To be effective, a leader has to do 2 basics. First, be there. Second, listen. Above all else, good leaders are calm, especially in a crisis. Fear, as a tool to motivate, will see your colleagues rapidly polishing their CV’s and heading for the door asap.

Leadership is the responsibility to not only guide a team, but to know when their guidance was not effective. Leader's must check their ego and be willing to always learn how to be better. True leadership is not a destination, it is a journey.

It is crucial to have a clear Personal Messaging Strategy to develop one's leadership presence. One can learn more about verbal and non-verbal communication, about one's core values, about how to be more mindful, etc. These are all very helpful steps. Yet, to develop one's leadership presence one must be able to communicate in ways that are congruent with one's personal values on a consistent basis. This can only be achieved through the conscious alignment between one's values and one's behaviours in very specific and observable ways by crafting a Personal Development Plan.
