Use the "Keep it Short and Simple" approach. Provide key numbers near the top of the news release/podium presentation as possible. Round off numbers where possible. Try to provide only figures which anchor or amplify your story line. Details can be spelled out in backgroundera or in your answers. Try to give media everything they need assuming they must leave quickly for the next newser. Limit the presenttation to 20 minutes if possible.. In your summary, repeat key numbers to refresh the reporter's memory. The good ones will be composing their leads before they leave. For radio assume your story will warrant only two audio clips. TV will need longer ones. Remember your story is not the only one they're working on that day.
