How can you get more 3D Modeling work by showcasing your portfolio?

This article is great and here's how I manage all my work in the right folders and subfolders. It's not just for me but can be managed for others to get from me. It is better to be disciplined in the way of working so that others can easily follow and the work will be more perfectly managed.

As someone who does a lot of projects in many different mediums, I still post those different mediums on my Artstation. When I'm applying for work, I link just to my 3D album so the other pieces don't clutter things up!

I've found it helpful to use artstation to showcase my work. It's easier than worrying if the website will look correct on different aspect ratios or if I laid everything out correctly. Since artstation is common people are familiar with how to use it- it gives me a lot of piece of mind!

Managing your site offers autonomy over the narrative, but platforms like Behance, Artstation, and 80lv shouldn't be overlooked. As a newcomer, drawing eyes to your personal domain can be daunting. By engaging with well-trafficked community sites, you tap into their established audiences. Ensure that your personal website and social channels—where you share exclusive content such as behind-the-scenes work or insights—are prominently linked. This strategy will incrementally boost traffic to your own digital real estate.

Leveraging social media platforms to share your 3D modeling work can be a powerful way to expand your reach, connect with potential clients, and receive valuable feedback from fellow 3D modelers. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn offer diverse opportunities for posting your work, keeping your followers updated, and actively engaging with your community.

I think this is very integral to growing your career. A great step in the right direction is sending someone a formal email or formal direct message on social media or on websites like ArtStation. Introduce yourself and just politely ask for feedback on your work. Let them know you are trying to improve and grow your career. (DO NOT) approach them asking for job placement. This is not a professional way to network. By you approaching them and asking for feedback to better yourself, it will already create the assumption that you are looking for work or trying to improve yourself. This will give you the most genuine conversations and honest feedback. You never know, this person may know another person and that person could land you a job.

As you grow, some of the models you were the most proud of or took the most work won't live up to your standards anymore- that's okay! It's hard taking them out of your portfolio, feeling like you're erasing all your hard work, but they aren't gone! They got you to where you are now- don't overlook your progress!

By continuously adding new projects that reflect your current skills and interests, and removing outdated or subpar work, you demonstrate your commitment to improvement.
