Before you write anything, you need to know who you are writing for. What are their needs, pain points, interests, and goals? What kind of language, tone, and format do they prefer? How do they search for information online? You can use tools like Google Analytics, Google Trends, and keyword research tools to get insights into your audience's behavior and preferences. By understanding your audience, you can create content that matches their intent, solves their problems, and answers their questions.

6 steps to ensure your SEO content positively impacts the user experience: 1️⃣ Find the topics and questions your audience is searching on Google. 2️⃣ Bucket these topics and questions into each phase of the customer journey. 3️⃣ Figure out where your content is strongest/weakest? Where your competition is strongest/weakest? 4️⃣ Prioritize based on this analysis and the potential volume you can capture if you get your content to rank. 5️⃣ Take this prioritized list of topics/questions and look at the top three results on Google for each of these. Unpack the factors these pages contain, that are helping them to rank so high. 6️⃣ Write your piece of content with these factors in mind. Be the best answer.

The best way to do so is find the trending search topic from Google trends and see where there is a lack of information which is being searched by your target audience. Research is the key to everything. You need to use tools like Analytics, Trends, Ubersuggest and many more to know what can engage the audience along with which you can do the on page and off page SEO, this way you are retaining the interest of your viewers and also increasing traffic on your site.
Your headline is the first thing that your audience and search engines see. It should be clear, catchy, and relevant to your content. It should also include your main keyword and convey the value or benefit of your content. A good headline can entice your audience to click on your link and read your content. A bad headline can make them ignore or bounce from your page. You can use tools like CoSchedule Headline Analyzer or BuzzSumo to test and improve your headlines.

Readability is the measure of how easy it is to read and understand your content. It affects both your SEO and your user experience. Search engines use readability as a ranking factor, as they want to provide the best results for their users. Users also want to read content that is clear, concise, and well-structured. You can improve your readability by using short sentences and paragraphs, subheadings, bullet points, images, and white space. You can also use tools like Hemingway App or Yoast SEO to check and improve your readability score.

Being concise while infusing resonance is a primary key to hit the readability mark. One needs to skim out and filter out the content to make it seamlessly explainable. Secondly, missing out on a logical flow can cost you losing out on your reader-base. A flow that clicks, is easy to understand and draws to the funnel flow is of high importance. I also think- if the content is stripped to pieces and blocks that don’t intertwine. The readability factor will be thrashed. So, the best practices would involves- a dynamic flow from the start to end, no jargons that require deep meaning searches, shorter sentences and add that witty touch to make the content difficult to forget.
Keywords are the words and phrases that your audience uses to search for information online. They help search engines understand what your content is about and match it to relevant queries. However, using keywords does not mean stuffing them into your content unnaturally. This can harm your SEO and your user experience, as it can make your content look spammy, irrelevant, or low-quality. You should use keywords naturally and strategically, in your headline, introduction, body, and conclusion. You should also use synonyms, variations, and long-tail keywords to avoid repetition and increase your relevance.

Be as natural as possible, just in order to do SEO you don't need to stuff keywords in the text, if you do so you may attract the leads but they won't covert into your customers because you are making it too repetitive and boring for them. The best way to do SEO is to retain your audience along with balancing keywords.

Links are another important element of SEO-friendly content. They help search engines crawl and index your pages, and they also help users navigate and find more information. Internal links are links that point to other pages on your website. They help you create a logical structure, boost your authority, and reduce your bounce rate. External links are links that point to other websites. They help you provide additional value, support your claims, and build trust and credibility. You should use both types of links in your content, but make sure they are relevant, useful, and high-quality.

Links are the secret sauce of SEO, guiding both search engines and users through the web maze. Internal links, like a well-marked trail, lead visitors to different corners of your website, creating order and authority while keeping bounce rates in check. But don't stop there—external links are your content's passport to credibility. They validate your claims, provide extra value, and sprinkle a bit of trust into the mix. The key is relevance, usefulness, and quality. Don't just sprinkle links like confetti; make them count.
The last step to creating SEO-friendly content that doesn't compromise the user experience is to test and improve your content. You should monitor and measure your content's performance, using tools like Google Search Console, Google PageSpeed Insights, and Google Optimize. You should also collect and analyze feedback from your audience, using tools like surveys, polls, and comments. By testing and improving your content, you can identify and fix any issues, optimize your results, and enhance your SEO and user experience.

It's safe to assume that thanks to AI, Google will continue to find ways to prioritize highly readable content. That's why testing is more important than ever before. Have a strategic writing and briefing process, but don't overthink it. The market will always decide, so publish your post. You need a bank of content to get good and to know what your audience wants. You can track the post's performance and look for ways to optimize it based on how it's engaged. Expect to come back to a content piece to update it for SEO and your users.

The barrier to entry for SEO and content marketing is absolutely diminished with the influx of AI tools. Besides writing content for human beings, good content in the future will need to emphasize the author and include personal lessons, first party analysis, or other unique perspectives they can offer relevant readers. (In addition to implementing best practices-- scannable body copy, clear sections, simplifying format and language used via Hemingway and other apps).

Understand that SEO content isn't the end game. PEOPLE, coming to your site, to engage your business, is the end game. SEO is simply the process we use to get them to us. What Google wants and what people want are often at odds simply because of how technology works. People want easy to understand, engaging content, often in video form with the option to read if they want to. Google wants written content because it's easier for their bots to parse it and contextualize it. I like to create "good" SEO content, then add in the pieces that people want. Make a video out of the content, add a TL;DR section, break it up with images, buttons, etc... and most importantly don't make them hunt for the action you want them to take.
