How can you audit your vision and mission statements for maximum impact?

Values are the articulation of how a leader expects their vision fulfilled. Values are translated by mangers/tactical Leaders into missions. Therefore, the way to evaluate vision and values acceptance is to measure ownership and belief in team, sections, and department's missions. The missions of each are their areas of focus within the organizational, process, and task flow as it relates to the overall strategic aim of an organization. Simple observation will also tell a leader much about their teams: do people like being there? Are they involved? Do they care about and take pride in their work? Is there intrinsic or extrinsic value? Answering these questions will deliver the answer.

Start every meeting reciting those statements, challenge team members to do so from memory, hire and fire based off of those statements, and give company awards for those who best exemplify those mission values. If your business is unsuccessful or you see a cultural incongruence at this point, you have the WRONG vision/mission and you need to come together to adjust it for the market and org needs.
