It's how you present yourself online and offline to potential employers or collaborators. To define your brand, consider what aspects of food science excite you the most, whether it's sustainable food packaging, flavor chemistry, or nutrition. Reflect on your specific skills, such as laboratory techniques or a knack for sensory evaluation, and think about how these can address industry needs.

Brand identity can impact consumers interest in choosing a particular food product. In recent times, the surge in chronic diseases coupled with climate change has created a culture of health and environmental consciousness amongst consumers. For some consumers, these are attributes about a food product they prioritise when choosing food. In New Zealand, I worked with the AUT Nothing Else brand which was used as a front-of-pack label on food products. The philosophy of the brand included the use of sustainable wholesome ingredients with no food additive. This was used to market snack bars. Consumers appreciated the products marketed with that brand as it was perceived that those products were synonymous with the brand identity.
