I once faced a dilemma about taking a major, unfamiliar opportunity in education. The method, environment, and culture were new, causing discomfort. I sought advice from a close friend, torn between staying in my comfort zone or embracing the unknown. He advised, "Go where it is most uncomfortable. In the shortness of life, what is uncomfortable may not always bear fruits to your liking, but it will always shape the best version of yourself." Inspired, I took the risk. I adapted, and this journey brought unimaginable growth. I'm glad I risked it.

Trust the process,be the big picture person.Not all gods reside in small things, there are gods of big things too.The question that often haunts me is,should a leader trust the process or develop the process.? And my take is - a leader must allows for consistency, stability & incremental improvement over time.Building transparent systems, trust and buy-in from all stakeholders by sticking to established methods should be the way forward when the process is already effective & needs refinement rather than reinvention.Along the way,keep developing the process,enabling innovation, adaptation& responsiveness to change/ circumstances.Judge what is necessary.If current process is inadequate or holding the organization back, bring in the balance

Change is the only constant and to create a culture of innovative leadership it becomes imperative to embrace change with changing external and internal environments. It can be done through Helping leaders to become flexible and adaptable to change. Encouraging leaders to continuously reflect on their practices and adapt to new challenges and opportunities.

Encouraging honest feedback from colleagues, staff, and stakeholders and Using this feedback to gain different perspectives on what led to the failure and how to address it. Keep a record of failures and the lessons learned from each experience. Foster culture where staff feel safe to take risks and fail without fear of blame or punishment.

Show respect & empathy, understanding that each person’s success contributes to the success of the whole community. Promote a collaborative environment where everyone feels they belong and their contributions are valued. Take risks together by involving teachers and staff in important decisions. This sharing of responsibility empowers and encourages innovation. Celebrate successes by recognizing and celebrating the achievements and innovations of everyone in the community. Finally - lead with humility acknowledge that you don’t have all the answers and be open and eager to learning from others.
