Once upon a time I had a customer who wanted to set-up some additional features within their organization. The customer had a preconceive notion of the features thinking it was going to be a hassle to have it configured. But all I did while on call was first, to understand what and why he need this solution deployed. After the customer speaking for about 10minutes, I was able to give a clear suggestion which was both beneficial to the customer in set-up and budget. Customer was elated as he kept mentioning that I was able to listen and come-up with a lovely suggestion which was later implemented within his organization. In summary, actively listening to people would always spark meaningful interactions not in workplace but at events.
