For example, I got to provision users and edit roles/permissions in Active Directory at work while learning about role-based security in my coursework.

You will realize it much later, but overloading your brain's RAM with "To-Do Lists" is a big productivity killer. Try offloading it to a Time planner notebook or a mobile app. This frees up your mind from the pressure of not missing out on anything important and helps you focus that critical extra on your task in hand.
