The best CV's are the ones that speak to the job advert. Recruiters receive a high volume of CV's and when we go through it we want to see that you do have what we are looking for. Also, do not be scared to add a little extra in order for your personality to shine through. In the end, we are looking for a human to fill the position.

A routine reminder to my new grads was that a resume is a "working document." Each time you submit an application/inquiry of employment, edit your resume so that it reflects: 1) You know what the job requires - skills/qualifications. 2) You've shared how you can bring value - experiences in and out of the classroom. 3) You've taken time to explore the company's culture - fit. Though this was often frustrating - "What? I thought I was done with my resume!" - eventually they could see the value when it resulted in an interview.
