First things first, if YOU ARE facing a communication issue ON EVENT, then there's an error in your planning. So here are 3 things to keep in mind to a) Avoid and b) Iron out these difficulties! 1) Pre-Plan like a Hawk: Map the event, with timestamps, and dry runs. Do it once, twice, thrice, till you're confident. 2) If you're on event, and things are not working out, Pull your A Players together. (You know who they are); Address the situation, and re-divide the segments of work to be done. Also assign the B&C players to the A players so they know who they have to support them 3) DO NOT lose your calm at any point. Take a step back and just make a list of things to be done. Then put it on your team group, and assign people to each task.
