Remember, the goal is not to eliminate differing opinions but to find a way to harness them constructively.

1 Acknowledge Differences

Understanding and acknowledging the differences in research methodologies is the first step towards resolving conflicts. It is typical when we collaborate with a group of individuals that there will be a different of opinions on how to proceed with project methodologies. Creating an open dialogue up front where all teammates feel heard and understood is important. Often comprise is important, so understanding what is most important to various teammates is critical. Ultimately, creating alignment, and communicating that alignment coherently is important. It is critical throughout the project to make sure that the common understanding persists. Having shared key performance indicators that are well monitored and analytical, helps maintain alignment throughout the process.

Being open to alternative research methodologies can be a game-changer. Sometimes, the best solution arises from a combination of different approaches. Encourage your team to think outside their methodological comfort zones and consider hybrid models that might better serve the research objectives.
