In my opinion it is important to hold 121 regularly and ask them directly how they are experiencing their work and the working environment. If you use a pulse or climate survey to capture the current state of the company. It would be also good to capture this for those in the entry level jobs and also if they are staying after their first year or two years in the company. I have also seen companies create work streams for these group in the company to listen and learn from what their challenges are within the company and what they are enjoying. Senior leaders get invited to listen and learn from these work streams and also progress of the initiatives is tracked.
