Need for speed is the main motive for the compute size to increase and that for sure increases the power. As of many cases we start small and grow as time passes , similarly for PDUs it becomes a wise decision to adapt a modular PDU which can grow up to 30Kw and start right from 5KW Also another advantage is to have a Luxury of adding multiple type of electrical configurations such as C13/19/23 and UK.

One caveat with modular PDUs is that generally speaking, modular PDUs tend to lock in the data center users into their platform. Rarely are these compatible among vendors. Operationally, tracking PDU assets and maintenance may also increase with modular PDUs.
