- Obtaining active feedback - Actively research opportunities for further development and present them. This shows your initiative and the importance of this topic. - Invest in yourself. Research funding and development opportunities. - A coach can help you and show you new perspectives. - Show what you are capable of, actively and with reasons for the solution, strategy, goal, etc. - Be prepared and feel free to ask for opinions. - Analyze trends, etc., try to understand this and build on it. - Build your own strategy, milestones and goals. - You can learn a lot online. It doesn't always require money. Also read books. - Accept feedback and try to understand and accept it.

It may be difficult to find local events focused on influencer marketing, so look for those focused on social media, digital marketing, public relations and communications. These often include influencer marketing and hit on broader industry trends you can also learn from. Don't just go to learn, make a goal to meet 5-10 new people with the goal to build relationships. Ask them "Is it okay if I send you a LinkedIn request so we can stay in touch?" and then follow up 1-2 days after the meeting and consider providing value to them by sharing resources and ideas, prior to asking for something to benefit yourself.

Use LinkedIn to discover events and connect with professionals in your field. Network without overwhelming yourself. Be polite, but you don't have to talk to everyone. Stay open to other industries. Set boundaries, including when sharing data. You don't have to be at the event the whole time.

Leverage your LinkedIn profile to share who you are and what you're passionate about (vs. a resume which focuses on what you've done in the past). Align everything in your profile to these career goals - your headline, cover image, about summary and posts should all have the same theme and reflect your goals.

Look elsewhere! The power play is to have a job while you’re in the market for another. You’ll make more if you keep jumping, too.

If there is no room for growth within your current company, confirm that. Check with your boss and let them know what your goals are and what sort of promotion you are looking for. Be able to communicate what sort of promotion you are seeking. Is it a new title, a pay increase, more responsibilities, someone to help and report to you? If there is no room to grow, or your boss doesn’t support your growth, consider looking at open roles at other companies.

If promotions are scarce, pivot towards entrepreneurship. Identify a gap in the market related to influencer marketing and launch a product or service to fill it. Use your existing skills and network to promote your venture. This not only diversifies your career path but also puts you in control of your professional growth, offering both challenges and rewards as you build and grow your own business.
