I like many of my slides to be full screen pictures that have people's faces and project energy. That's what we as people want to see! I have very few, if any, slides that are all words.

Aside from PowerPoint, my most useful presentation tool when I train is the Logitech Spotlight clicker. Now that most of our presentation training happens virtually, I can no longer point with my finger on a physical screen. The Logitech Spotlight clicker creates a customizable spotlight zone which is super helpful to guide my audience and help them to know where to look on my slides as I am talking. I could not live without it!

I have used Mentimeter.com for years as an interactive tool for feedback gathering. They have also integration in Power Point. Highly recommend Mentimenter for feedbacks and interaction during rhe presentation.

Just release a survey or questionnaire.. or ask everyone in the end it they is something they want to know more , this will give you adequate Info on how it went.

They are the best way to start off and get inspired. Also: use their frameworks! 2. Practice makes perfect - the more slides you built, the better they will get. Start spending more time, adjusting the most intricate details. After a while, you will have the most detail-oriented eye, completely changing your slides.

We all create slides to achieve a desired IMPACT on our audience. Period. For me, the first step to get feedback is to measure to what extent we have achieved our desired impact. You can impact your audience in 4 ways. Simply ask them: "What do you REMEMBER from my presentation?" "What do you BELIEVE now that you have listened to me?" "How do you FEEL about this topic now?" "What will you DO... walking away from this meeting?". Depending on your audience and your specific objective for a given presentation, some of these 4 ways to impact your audience will carry more weight than others.

No matter what tool you choose, what matters most is WHAT you say. Remember, slides are a visual aid, keyword “AID.” Don’t waste hours or days of your time in PowerPoint unless it truly elevates your message.

Don't underestimate the time required up-front to THINK about your audience, define a clear COMMUNICATION OBJECTIVE, spell-out your DESIRED IMPACT and then (and only then) start to build a PLAN or STORYLINE for your presentation, considering the time available for you to deliver it and the group discussion dynamics you can expect. That is half of the battle right there.

In my experience the beauty of presentation only matter if you are presenting externally. Internal presentation should have a good balance of both texts and images. Images should only be used to support the text. Some people may visit your presentation later so make sure to send an email to attendees after your presentation and try to have enough written texts so it can be understood without verbal communication.

Slides should always be complementary to the person presenting. If multiple people will be using the presentation is really important that notes are added, and there are several run throughs in advance to make sure the presentation matches their presenting style.
